The Bishop is coming to Ames

(Ames, Iowa, Feb. 8, 2014) — Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church is pleased to announce that His Grace, Alexander (Golitzin), Bishop of Toledo and the Bulgarian Diocese, will be visiting central Iowa in early March. He is expected to serve a Great Vespers service in Ames on Saturday, March 8, prior to heading to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Pella for the Divine Liturgy the following Morning. The Church will host a lenten potluck immediately following the conclusion of Great Vespers, and there will be a time to engage His Grace with conversation.

Saturday, March 8 – BISHOP ALEXANDER VISITS AMES
Note special time for vespers!
5:00pm Great Vespers, with Bishop Alexander
5:45pm (approx.) Lenten Potluck
7:30pm (approx.) Bishop departs for Pella

Sunday, March 9 – Sunday of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, First Sunday of Great Lent

11:00am (approx.) Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with Bishop Alexander
4:00pm Vespers of the Triumph of Orthodoxy, with St. Nicholas, Holy Transfiguration, and St. George Greek Orthodox Church (Des Moines) at St. Nicholas in Pella.
